New Discoveries
The great thing about all this running is getting to see parts of London I've never seen before. Today we ran from Hammersmith to Richmond along the Thames, beautiful on a warm spring morning. We are getting into the pretty serious distances now, 25km this weekend, followed by 30km next weekend and the 35km biggie the weekend after. Here we are on Hammersmith Bridge enjoying a post-run banana. Someone remind us why we are doing this again!??

Every little helps
I have been selling these silver fern badges at school for a gold coin donation towards the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal. The boys are very enthusiastic buyers, some of the Year 3's have up to ten badges attached to their blazers! My main selling point was that the silver ferns are just like the ones the All Blacks wear on their rugby jerseys!

Building up the mileage
This weekend we decided base our weekly long run on a half marathon that was happening in Berkhampsted where Estelle's boyfriend lives. Tacking on an extra 6km beforehand on our way to the race meant we arrived slightly late and missed the official start, but wow did overtaking so many people feel good! I managed to finish in 1:58 which wasn't too bad considering the cracking pace Ralph the dog set on the 6km beforehand! And we've now got another medal to add to the collection!

The war continues...
The mice problem we had when we first moved into this flat remains an ongoing battle. We reached breaking point the other morning at 4.30am when we were woken with incessantly loud squeaking. It seems they were having an improptu party in our kitchen and actually like the bait we have set out. Grrrrr!

Kia Kaha Christchurch
Tim, Michael and I attended a service at Westminster Cathedral on Wednesday night to remember those affected by the Christchurch earthquake. It was very moving with messages read from John Key and Richie McCaw by the New Zealand High Commissioner and a rendition of the national anthem led by Hayley Westenra. It was an amazing display of the sheer number of young New Zealanders living in London, with over 5000 kiwis in attendance.
Christchurch you remain in our thoughts and prayers.
